Love birds

OK, so they're not birds - they're cats...

(I think the wraparound leg is a nice touch.)

Don't tell Grandma

I got this tree as a secretary's day gift a few years ago. I didn't have a house or anywhere to put an indoor tree so my grandmother took the tree. She watered and cared for it and, for whatever reason, decided to give it back to my plant-killing self. As you might be able to tell, the tree has absolutely "bit the dust" and we are just going to have to throw it away. It's completely dead, has absolutely no leaves and now all of the branches are broken completely off. I think you can guess why.

Crazy Marcy Coffee

What the heck happened?!?!?!?!?!?

I woke up at 5-something this morning to the sound of a thunderstorm. The cats automatically thought it was time to get up and eat. They proceeded to crawl accross me and glare at me from the various places they like to perch from. I kept tossing and turning and trying to avoid hyper, impatient kitties that were in the way of my getting more precious sleep time in!!!

Finally, I stumble out of bed. I can't seem to wake up at all. I thought: "maybe after I take a shower I'll wake up." That turned to: "maybe while I'm driving I'll wake up." To: "maybe when I get to work I'll wake up."

I felt like a walking zombie, until I tried the infamous "Crazy Marcy Coffee" - i.e. coffee mixed with a packet of hot chocolate.

That did the trick. I'm finally awake.

Frickin' Mondays!!!

Everytime I see this picture...

...it makes me laugh!

It's my parent's new kitty, Archie, after he had some ear drops placed in his ears.

E-mail from my mom describing the events in her household since the arrival of the new kitten:

Abby is NOT happy to have a brother. Archie could really give a shit. He thinks Abby is a toy. Torments her to chase him. She is mad as hell at all of us. She has her sweet moments but not for long. She did play with me in my bedroom today. But most of the her day was spent stalking Archie.

Vet said he has ear mites. Got medicine drops for that. Has the start of a cold. Got two medicines for that. Has worms but has been treated for that before we got him and goes back on the 22nd for rest of shots and wormed again. Other than that he's in good shape. HA!

Pic #1 Abby on guard. Notice one eye is blue and the other is yellow. Panther school colors. (My sister's high school.)

Pic #2 Abby worn out from being on guard.

Pic #3 Worn out Archie from Abby being on guard and chasing each other to figure out the pecking order.

Sure hope Abby settles down. Archie has a very easy going temperament. Just purrs all the time. Even when he sleeps.

Well, now you know the rest of the story.

Love,
The Mom

New Cat!!!! (Don't panic)

It does not, I repeat, NOT belong to me.

My parents have adopted a little kitten. (This makes their cat number = 2 - they are much smarter than I am).

His name is Archie. Not sure of the story behind the name yet...but he sure looks cute!

Drunk Love

This is what I call "Drunk Love". For instance, I came home the other night from a friend's bachlorette party and each kitty (except for the scared/smart(???) one) got picked up and hugged and squeezed and kissed. Actually, after most kitties receive their first dose of drunk love they get a little skittish and run away. It's not for the faint of heart.
